About Solaris Tribute™ Compression Garments
If your doctor, therapist or insurance company is unfamiliar with the Solaris Tribute nighttime bandaging replacement garment, please share a copy of this information sheet with them.
• Solaris Tribute garments are individually custom-made to each patient’s precise measurements and can be designed to provide coverage over any involved area(s) of the body. This custom fit helps to deliver the therapeutic effects of the garment.
• Solaris Tribute garments are intended for nighttime use to replace the multi-layer compression bandaging that is a standard component of the intensive phase of complex decongestive therapy and is also expected to be a part of the self-care protocol in the home management phase of treatment. The Tribute frees the user from the need for daily application of multi-layer compression bandaging and provides a safe, easy and effective alternative. The Solaris Tribute allows the user to sleep in comfort, in their natural positioning, effectively receiving a treatment while they sleep.
“Compressive bandages, when applied incorrectly, can be harmful and/or useless. Accordingly, such multilayer wrapping should be carried out only by professionally trained personnel. Newer manufactured devices to assist in compression (i.e., pull on, Velcro-assisted, quilted, etc.) may relieve some patients of the bandaging burden and perhaps facilitate compliance with the full treatment program…” 2009 Consensus Document, International Society of Lymphology.
• Solaris Tribute garments provide gradient compression (apx. 30mmHg distally, decreasing proximally to apx. 20mmHg). Adding the optional custom-made Outer Jacket increases compression by about 10mmHg. For purposes of comparison, the recommended compression of a daytime compression arm sleeve is 30-40 mm-Hg.
• Solaris provides a full one-year warranty on all Tribute garments. We recommend that most patients reorder every 12-18 months. The custom-made Outer jacket should be replaced every 6 months. Two Outer jackets should be ordered when the Tribute garment is ordered.
• Solaris uses a proprietary fabric blend that is breathable, thermo-releasing, moisture-wicking and has anti-microbial properties to keep the skin cool, dry and clean. The use of medical grade foam chips in the garment construction provides high and low pressure gradients and tissue stretch to stimulate the lymphatics and gently break down fibrosis. The chips are sewn into unique bi-directional channels that guide fluid toward collateral lymphatic pathways.
• Indications for use are chronic swelling, especially when accompanied by fibrosis, often due to lymphedema, lipedema, trauma, or as a complication of chronic venous insufficiency and similar conditions. If wounds are present, they must be dressed.
• Contraindications include but are not limited to arterial insufficiency or degeneration, Deep Vein Thrombosis, untreated Congestive Heart Failure, active localized or systemic infection, obstructive edema such as active cancer, absence of sensation, any condition where increased fluid return is a
concern. Not all of these conditions are absolute contraindications - please always consult with your physician prior to ordering Solaris Tribute or any therapeutic compression garments to assess individual suitability. A physician’s prescription is generally required for Tribute garment claim coverage by most private insurance plans.
